The lack of opportunities to improve the quality of life is one of the main reasons why people leave local communities. If each community is self-sustaining and life in these communities meets not only the standards to survive but also to flourish and grow, we may see less of forced migration. HERD actively seeks to nurture entrepreneurial talent that would make these hubs self-sustaining.
HERD employs a two-pronged approach here-
– Set up businesses in eco-communities that provide local employment and a benchmark for local entrepreneurs
– Encourage and provide opportunities to local entrepreneurs to set up SMEs to support the local economy such as
1. Agribusinesses: Agri-produce Dehydration; Nursery
2. Dairy Network
3. Textile Export
